National Balloon Week - 10th to 16th November 2008
The 12th “National Balloon Week” is taking place from 10th – 16th November 2008 during which time NABAS will host their

NABAS The Balloon Association Ltd and its members will be championing the balloon and party industry by organising national and local events that highlight the versatility of applications and market opportunities that balloons can offer.   Competitions, Balloon Releases and Special Events all form part of the week’s festivities, which are being organised by the Members of the Association around the country.

The events will culminate on Sunday 16th November with the NABAS “Festival of Balloon Art” at the NAC in Stoneleigh Park near Coventry – tickets and further information for this event can be acquired from the NABAS office – contact details below.

Balloons really are big business; millions of balloons are sold in the UK every year and the sector as a whole is thought to be worth in excess of £80 million. The industry also employs a rapidly growing workforce with the emergence of many new entrepreneurial companies.   NABAS – The Balloon Association Ltd, est. 1987, the only independent trade association for the industry actively encourages and supports this annual promotion.

The events of National Balloon Week are designed to draw the public’s attention to the vast array of possibilities that balloons offer for entertainment, fun and business & charitable promotions.

Design & Portfolio Day

NABAS are very pleased to announce this years Design & Portfolio Day theme, 1001 Arabian Nights!

Sue Marston-Weston of Conwin, Inc. is thrilled to introduce the truly talented and multi award winning 2008 design team, Christopher Horne, Amscan International, Marc Summers and Jo Uddin, Rouse Matrix, UK. The wonderful Ian Herd plus new D&P instructors Luc Bertrand WaW Balloons, Belgium & Dennis Hogers, Ha Ha Entertainments, Netherlands will be sharing their multiple skills and knowledge for this action packed fun filled day!

The Design & Portfolio Day is a great opportunity to work on a large scale project, transforming an empty room into a breathtaking venue!   What better way to work as part of a team, learn many new balloon skills, work with new balloon products and specialist equipment, make new friends and of course network than to work on the decor for the NABAS Festival of Balloon Art Gala Dinner!

The day is divided into 3 sessions giving you the opportunity to select projects that best suit you, whether centrepiece designs, classic balloon decor, special effects and this year twisting skills, to name just a few.   All session are hands-on, plus full design notes will be given for all aspects of the days events and decor.

We guarantee whether you are a beginner with just basic balloon skills training, about to launch your career in balloon art, or a more seasoned balloon artist you will gain a mass of knowledge from this day as well as having a huge amount of fun!   

The day includes: Hands-on training with a minimum of 3 sessions, full training notes and job costing, lunch & refreshments plus one ticket for the evening Dinner & Dance.   Finally a CD of portfolio photographs will be supplied after the day for you to use.
