Balloon Entertainer Receives First Pioneer®
Visionary ScholarshipJim Manning of Jungle Jim’s in Boston, MA, USA, has received the first Marvin Hardy Pioneer Visionary Scholarship for balloon entertainers. The scholarship will pay for Jim’s attendance to Millennium Jam 2007 in Mol, Belgium, from June 12-14, 2007. “It’s a big deal to be named the first-ever winner and to go to such a high-profile event as Millennium Jam, essentially representing all of the people who helped get me there,” said Jim. “I plan on proving myself worthy of this honor.” Building on his experience at Millennium Jam, Jim plans to further develop his twisting abilities while capitalizing on the marketing potential of receiving such a prestigious award. Jim’s application showed a solid, 24-month game plan that began with his educational experience at Millennium Jam,” said Wynn Ponder, CBA, scholarship board director. “He wrote out clear objectives with realistic timelines that form a road map for his business–and his artistic vision.” The Marvin Hardy Pioneer Visionary Scholarship is named after the legendary artist who became a twister in 1980. Recipients of the scholarship are selected on the basis of how they plan to use the knowledge gained from their chosen events in shaping the growth of their businesses.
