Balloon Biography
Originally trained as a science teacher, Christopher launched his floristry business in 1983 and gained recognition and industry awards in the following years. Balloons were introduced to the business in 1993 and became the major part of the business, which specialised in Weddings, Special Events, Themed Events and Education.

Christopher has a great deal of enthusiasm and experience in the industry and is equally at home teaching a class to complete beginners as he is to those with extensive backgrounds in the balloon industry. He has taught on six continents and is well known for his unique talent for making the most complicated of designs really simple. He is the designer and presenter of two respected instructional videotapes and has contributed to industry publications such as ’Balloon Images’, ’Party Times’ and ’Party Party’ magazines on many occasions.

he is well known for his unique teaching style - believing strongly in ’ education through entertainment’, and for his talent for improvisation and creativity. He has taught at IBAC and EBS since 1997, the Asia Pacific Balloon Symposium since 1999 and many other educational venues and events around the world. He organised his own Global Educational Tours twice yearly schedule, and in 2000 became the first teacher to teach on all six inhabited continents.

Christopher is well known for his many competition wins, and in 2002 became the first ’Master Designer’ by achieving first place in a competitions between previous winners from Europe, held in Florence, Italy. He is also an international competition judge for the industry.

After almost 10 years of travelling and teaching, Christopher decided early in 2003 to take time out from his schedule to spend with his family - his wife Julie and two young sons, William and Oliver. He was employed as the manager of the Florist department in a chain of Garden centres, where his creative and organisational skills continued to be tested to the full. He set up a series of highly popular demonstrations of floristry, and planned and executed a comprehensive educational programme.

In October 2004 he was approached by Amscan International to complete the development of their new range of Latex decorator balloons to be launched under the Anagram brand, on which he had been working as a consultant since mid 2003. As Amscan’s Creative Development Manager, he now works full time heading up the further development and promotion of this new line, and is currently working on a programme of demonstrations and training courses which are different to any previously offered. His particular area of interest and expertise is in the combination of Latex, Foil and decorative products in ways that have been so far unexplored.

Balloon Biography
Colin first worked with balloons in 1993, but it was not until 1994 when Colin attended the first EBS – European Balloon Symposium in Amsterdam, that he realised
the potential that balloon decorating held. In 1999, Colin started competing and has collected a number of awards over the past few years at both the International Party & Halloween Show and IBAC.

In 2001, Colin won the prestigious title of Decorator of the Year, and early this year took 2nd place in the delivery category at IBAC. Colin’s meticulous attention to detail makes him a great instructor, sharing his knowledge with delegates across the UK and Europe.

I feel passionately that the balloon industry is ready to take off in the very near future, which is the main reason I compete and teach. I am always trying to learn from other artists whilst also trying to create new techniques myself, I believe that only through top class instruction will the industry be able to take the opportunities that will be presented in the coming years.

Balloon Biography
Ed Chee has been twisting for over 12 years. He is an award-winning balloon artist, the author of the “Hat Attack!!!” DVD, producer of many DVD's for various balloon artists, founder and host of Diamond Jam, and a featured instructor at several major conventions. Known for his extremely detailed style of twisting, he has appeared several times on television and has been the subject of several articles in magazines and newspapers.

Ed "burst" onto the balloon world public stage in 2003, but has been twisting since 1994. Ed enjoyed entertaining table-side at restaurants, so he kept working at it all the while holding down a full-time job. In 2001, he attended his first convention - WRCA in Laughlin, Nevada - on a one-day pass. It was a four-day event, but the single day he spent at the event was enough to whet his appetite for greater association with other twisters, and he began making plans to attend T&S’2002. Life has a funny way of messing up the best-laid plans. Before he could register for

T&S 2002, Ed was laid off from his job. Needing to conserve his savings to survive, the plans to attend T&S'2002 were cancelled. After landing another job in his career field that year, Ed decided to catch the next major event - TJam 2003. It was at this event that Ed suddenly burst onto the public stage. Other twisters noticed his unique style in the jam area, and soon many were asking him to teach a private class. He entered the competitions at the last minute, creating sculptures he had never made before. "I've always created sculptures down to the last detail in my head, so I had this image of what I wanted to create - I just had to create it".

He taugh a private class at TJam 2003, and has subsequently been a featured instructor at many major conventions in the balloon and clowning industry. The DVD Producer… Following the TJam 2003 experience, Ed realized that there was a demand for his style of twisting and started contemplating the release of a DVD. His first release, "Hat Attack!!!" was a huge hit with its high quality video production. Several well-known balloon artists approached Ed to produce their DVD's, and as the reputation for his quality DVD's grew, so did the list of artists seeking representation by his company, DiamondStorm. “My background in photography, videography, graphics art, and computers provided the basic skills necessary to produce high-quality DVD products.”
